We're super excited to finally share some of the amazing photos and design inspiration behind this year's New England Friendsgiving (or Friendsorgiving as we’ve nicknamed it!)!
For the second year in a row, we’ve partnered with our friend and fellow industry pro, Kelly of Kelly Golia Events to host a celebration of thanks and community in honor of our wedding industry friends and colleagues.
The inspiration and focus of the our annual Friendsorgiving event is simple. Author and philosopher, Ayn Rand frames it up pretty nicely, “The creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not the desire to beat others.”
For Kelly and me, we think it’s incredibly important to take a moment (or day in this case) to reflect on the post-wedding season and to think of all of the fellow professionals who were integral to the achievement of each one of our own businesses.
One of the best ways to live out community over competition is to practice gratitude and this event has proven to be an easy way of seeing it come to fruition. When we’re thankful, we’re not fearful. And when we’re not fearful, we’re not insecure. When we’re thankful, we’re full, and we share that spirit of abundance with others.
Unlike other Friendsgiving celebrations, we opted to not have a potluck and kept the dinner to the professional (Paladar Kitchen catered our dinner and it was OUT of this world.) Instead, we had all of our participating friendors share their creative talents to create a beautiful day filled with florals, cocktails, some glam time and best of all- friendship.
Our day started with hair and makeup for each one of our vendors and was quickly followed by headshots and group shots. The day was also filled with some yummy artisanal cocktails from Willa and Little Bitte and a DIY flower crown bar from Alexa Gallishaw.
For dinner. we had each of our wedding planners and designers team up with a florist, a calligraphy and our tabletop rental provider to uniquely style and design a table. All of our teams were given free reign with design and as you can see below, all took such a beautiful and different take on their designs.
